Resources
These are some of my favorite resources so far. I'm sure this list will grow and change over time. Feel free to share some of your favorite resources via our contact page!
Virtual Death Doula Network
https://www.virtualdeathdoula.net/
“Our mission is to create an online collective of professional doulas that are willing to help companion and serve those in need. We offer respite care, vigil, companioning, advanced directive planning, and other general doula services remotely and in-person, as well as additional services specific to each doula. We are accessible to the hearing impaired community via live Zoom closed-captioning. We operate on a sliding scale to ensure that our services are available to everyone who needs them.”
Loss, Grief & Love during COVID-19
Virtual communities and online resources for end-of-life planning, grief and loss support
-
Minnesota Threshold Network
“Advocating family-directed after-death care, including home vigils and green burial choices”
Although this is a Minnesota-based organization, much of the information they provide includes nation-wide resources, applicable links or resources that can point you in the right direction to find your local services.
Here is their free document, “Loving, Living, and Dying During COVID-19.”
They encourage sharing this document far and wide. -
HealGrief® is “a social support network that is there when everyone else goes away, and the real grieving begins.
Everything we do is inspired by our core belief that no one should ever grieve alone. HealGrief® provides the tools and resources to guide one’s journey with grief into a healthy personal growth.”
From their website: “Grief is often isolating. But it doesn’t have to be anymore! Regardless of your ability to find local supportive services, HealGrief® has made it possible to connect on a whole new level. It’s time to be heard, feel understood and connect with others who understand your journey. Sign up for a facilitated virtual support group today!”
“If virtual support is not for you, we invite you to our resource page where you can search for a supportive service near you.”

- CDC Checklist to Protect You During the Outbreak
- The Conversation Project
- Making a Medical Plan During COVID-19
- The Importance of Addressing Advance Care Planning and Decisions About Do-Not-Resuscitate Orders During Novel Coronavirus 2019
- Resources to help you have conversations about treatment preferences before a medical crisis

- National Home Funeral Alliance's Pandemic Resources for Families Facing End Of Life
There are some absolutely profound and beautiful offerings on this site. While normally an in-person festival, they have quickly adapted in ways to connect from the heart with a global community around the topics of death and dying. From their resources page: “Find healing during uncertain times. In this unprecedented moment of illness, death, and isolation, find resources that help make the world more human and connected.”
End-of-Life Planning

The Order of the Good Death
Founded by an alternative funeral director, this website comprehensively addresses all aspects of death and dying with phenomenal resources. “The members of the Order believe there is a revolution afoot in the way our society handles death…We invite you to join the Order and make the changes that will allow you, your family, and your culture die better.”
Cake
"Make your ending meaningful and easier on loved ones. Explore, document and share all your health, legal, funeral and legacy decisions in an end-of-life plan. Make it easier for family in the future."
